Earlsfort Gardens

IPUT Real Estate Dublin
Location:
City of Dublin
Earlsfort Gardens is in a prime location within Dublin’s City Centre, along the road from St Stephen’s Green and opposite the National Concert Hall. The gardens have been designed to create an attractive public amenity for visitors and occupiers to enjoy.
The Design
Earlsfort Garden has a formality to the design. From Earlsfort Terrace there is an elevated viewpoint over the garden with access via refurbished sandstone steps and a ramp into the central garden space. The steps sit between generous seating steps, from where one can enjoy the sun and overlook over the garden.
A central reflective pool is framed by seating, planting and a water rill. Small, intimate pathways lead into the centre of the garden through the planting beds, enveloping visitors into the green oasis.
Around the perimeter of the garden there are tables and chairs alongside the Conrad Hotel and new planting along the façade of 5 and 6 Earlsfort Terrace.
Key Features
Water is a key design element; the calming, central mirror like pool brings light and reflection to the centre while the water rill frames the planting and introduces movement and playfulness alongside the perimeter seating area.
A naturalistic planting scheme provides colour and seasonal interest almost all year round. The organic mixing of groups of plants and their natural forms contrast with the crisp, straight edges of the stone and water feature. A palette of white, blue, and mauve flowers complements a variety of foliage textures.
