Canada Water Printworks Reserved Matters Approval

Southwark Council have approved RMA applications for the Printworks building, Zone H of the Canada Water Masterplan, as well as Printworks Street between Quebec Way and Surrey Quays Road at its northern edge.

Detailed permission has been given for the Zone H proposals, which include a sustainable, adaptive reuse of the former printworks building, into a modern office-led development with ground floor retail, improved public realm, and significant tree planting, with new streetscape and routes through the site.

More widely, the Canada Water Masterplan, developed by British Land, will provide up to 2.5 million sq ft of workspace, 1 million sq ft of retail, culture, leisure, and education facilities, and up to 3,000 homes within the 53-acre development. This includes 16 acres of new public space, including a 3.5-acre park, revitalised wetlands, and a new town square.
