Canada Dock, Winner of the Award for Planning in the Natural Environment
Our Canada Water Dock team, comprising British Land, London Borough of Southwark, Townshend Landscape Architects and London Wildlife Trust, is the winner of the Award for Planning for the Natural Environment.
As one of the few remaining docks in the Surrey Docks area, Canada Dock is a powerful reminder of the area’s working heritage and an important wetland habitat, designated as a SINC.
As a key space for the Canada Water Masterplan, the vision for the Dock is to improve the ecology and provide an environment where people and nature are better connected. Importantly the plan is to create a place where people will enjoy spending time, and where they can learn about the area’s rich history and biodiversity, at the heart of an emerging town centre redevelopment.
