Pocket Living has received the green light for its first major build to rent scheme on a site in the Old Oak Opportunity Area. The development will provide 457 Build to Rent homes, with 35% affordable.
Atlas Wharf will include three buildings designed by Grid Architects, all connected at ground floor level via a podium, containing a shared entrance, resident amenity spaces, play, cycle storage and commercial and retail uses that will be open to the public.
The flexible ground floor commercial and amenity spaces will knit with the surrounding public realm and activate the street scene, which includes both tree and low-level planting within the pavement zone. Challenging level changes to the canal towpath have provided the opportunity to introduce stepped seating and biodiverse planting.
A new accessible route through the site links with the wider Channel Gate masterplan.
